SmartEst ("the App") is operated by SmartEst ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our App.

Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect, store, transmit, or process any personally identifiable information (PII). We do not have servers. We do not have a database. We do not track you. We do not use analytics SDKs. We do not use advertising SDKs. We have no access to any data you enter into the App.

Local Data Storage

All data you create in the App — including projects, rooms, device selections, estimates, notes, and preferences — is stored exclusively on your device's local file system. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to share or export it using the App's built-in share features (e.g., PDF export, text sharing via Messages or Email).

iCloud

If you have iCloud enabled on your device, your Pro subscription status may sync across your Apple devices via Apple's iCloud Key-Value Storage. Project data is NOT uploaded to iCloud or any cloud service. We have no access to your iCloud account or its contents.

In-App Purchases

The App offers optional purchases processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, see, or store any payment information including credit card numbers, billing addresses, or Apple ID credentials. All payment management is handled by Apple. Push Notifications

The App may request permission to send local push notifications for project reminders. These notifications are generated and delivered entirely on your device. No notification data is sent to any external server.

Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate any third-party services, analytics platforms, advertising networks, social media SDKs, crash reporting tools, or tracking technologies of any kind.

Brand References

The App references product and brand names (such as Ring, Nest, Philips Hue, Lutron, and others) solely for the purpose of helping users identify and compare compatible smart home products. These references constitute nominative fair use. SmartEst is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or partnered with any brand or manufacturer mentioned in the App. All trademarks are the property of their respective owners.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the App, please contact us and we will address it promptly.

Data Deletion

You may delete all App data at any time by going to Settings within the App. Alternatively, uninstalling the App from your device will remove all locally stored data permanently. Since we do not store any data on servers, deletion is immediate and complete.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the App with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App. You must be at least 13 years old to use the App.

Service Description

SmartEst is a planning and estimation tool for smart home device installations. The App provides approximate cost estimates, energy calculations, and device compatibility information based on general market data and user-entered information. The App is a planning aid only and is not a substitute for professional consultation.

Disclaimer of Accuracy

ALL PRICING, COST ESTIMATES, ENERGY SAVINGS PROJECTIONS, AND COMPATIBILITY ASSESSMENTS PROVIDED BY THE APP ARE APPROXIMATE AND FOR INFORMATIONAL AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY. ACTUAL COSTS MAY VARY SIGNIFICANTLY BASED ON RETAILER PRICING, REGIONAL AVAILABILITY, INSTALLATION COMPLEXITY, LOCAL LABOR RATES, ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS, BUILDING CODES, AND OTHER FACTORS. WE MAKE NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES REGARDING THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR RELIABILITY OF ANY ESTIMATE OR INFORMATION PROVIDED BY THE APP.

SmartEst does not provide and is not a substitute for professional electrical, construction, financial, or legal advice. We are not licensed contractors, electricians, engineers, or financial advisors. You should consult qualified professionals before making purchasing decisions, performing electrical work, or modifying your home based on information from the App. We strongly recommend hiring a licensed electrician for any smart home installation involving electrical wiring.

Brand References & Trademarks

The App references third-party product and brand names solely to help users identify compatible devices. All trademarks, service marks, and trade names referenced in the App are the property of their respective owners. SmartEst is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected with any brand, manufacturer, or retailer mentioned in the App. Brand pricing information is based on publicly available market data and may not reflect current or accurate pricing.

Purchases & Payments

The App offers an optional Pro upgrade at $9.99 as a one-time purchase, managed entirely through Apple's App Store. By purchasing, you agree to Apple's terms and conditions for in-app purchases. We do not process payments directly and have no access to your payment information.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, NURO LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM: (A) YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP; (B) ANY PURCHASING DECISIONS MADE BASED ON INFORMATION IN THE APP; (C) ANY INSTALLATION, MODIFICATION, OR CONSTRUCTION PERFORMED BASED ON ESTIMATES FROM THE APP; (D) INACCURATE PRICING, COMPATIBILITY, OR ENERGY INFORMATION; OR (E) ANY OTHER MATTER RELATED TO THE APP. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SmartEst from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

Intellectual Property

The App, its original content, features, functionality, design, and code are owned by SmartEst and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App without our prior written consent.

User Data

You are solely responsible for all data you enter into the App. We do not access, collect, or store your data. You are responsible for backing up your own data. We are not liable for any data loss resulting from device failure, App updates, or user error.

Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the App at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties, or for any other reason at our sole discretion.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the appropriate courts in the State of Georgia.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes through the App. Your continued use of the App after such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
